Senior Transportation

Ocean Twp Senior citizens 65 or older wishing to participate in the Senior Transportation Program must register with the Township’s Department of Human Services Office by calling 732-531-2600.


Township Van:
For Ocean seniors 65 and older, The Township of Ocean provides FREE transportation utilizing our township vans for medical appointments and shopping. Medical appointment rides are provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 am - 2 pm. to nearby doctor's offices and hospitals. Shopping rides are provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am-2pm to businesses located in Ocean Township. Please call at least 2-3 business days in advance of your appointment.

Seniors riding in the Township vans must be able to enter and exit the minivan with minimal assistance. For those riders with mobility issues that require handicapped accessible transportation, please see the information regarding services provided by Monmouth County Division of Transportation - Ride in Monmouth.


Ride in Monmouth Transportation Service

Ride in Monmouth is a shared ride transportation service through the Monmouth County Division of Transportation that is available on a first come, first served basis. Transportation is available Monday–Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm. You can book your trip as far as 6 months in advance or as little as 48 hours, however, it is strongly encouraged to book as far in advance as possible to secure a ride. Healthy Hop Transportation Service

Healthy Hop is a free transportation service offered by Caregivers Volunteers of NJ and is designed to help seniors aged 60 years and older get to their medical appointments. For more information or to register by phone call 732-505-2273. Once registered, you will be eligible for two trips per month (not in the same week.)
