PATROL CAR COMPUTERS

     Each patrol vehicle is equipped with a Mobile Data Terminal.  These computers are durable two piece "lap tops" meant specifically for vehicle mounted use.  The computers utilize wireless modems and provide officers with instant records checks.  These computers allow officers to get instant backgrounds on both vehicles and people.   The computers also advise officers of stolen vehicles, wanted persons and provide pictures of suspects.  In addition, these computers allow officers to complete type written reports and submit them remotely thereby increasing officers time spent on the road.
