NARRATIVE
On 12/8/2007, at approximately 12:21 am, police were
called to the parking lot of the Applebee’s Restaurant in reference to a
fight and a man with a gun. Officers arrived on scene and found a large
group people in the lot and an injured female lying on the ground. Further
investigation revealed that a dispute started inside Applebee’s among a
group a patrons. An employee of Applebee’s attempted to end the dispute by
having everyone that was involved leave the restaurant. At some point, as
the group was leaving, a blue late 1990’s model Ford, possibly a Taurus or
Sable, pulled into the parking lot. An unknown black male exited the Ford
vehicle and approached one of the male employees who was now outside that
was trying to end the dispute that began inside. The unknown black male then
pointed a hand gun at the employee. The employee immediately retreated back
into the restaurant and called 911. The unknown black male then walked
toward a twenty-one year old female from Asbury Park who was with a group in
the parking lot. He subsequently struck her in the face with the same hand
that he was holding the gun with. The female who was obviously injured fell
to the ground. The unknown black then got back into the Ford vehicle and
fled the scene. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a large black hooded
sweatshirt and a red scull cap. He described as being in his early twenties
and between 5-11 and 6-0 tall. The injured female was transported to Jersey
Shore Medical Center by the Wanamassa First Aid Squad with a laceration to
her face.
