DRUG ARREST

ACCUSED: Mannie Jason Simon, Age 25 of Neptune.

NARRATIVE
     On 11/27/2007 at approximately 3:27am, Officer Michael Legg was on patrol in the area of the Tower Motel. While in the lot of the motel, Legg determined that an active warrant existed for the driver of a 1997 Mazda that was parked in the lot in front of a room. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the Mazda, later identified as Mannie Jason Simon, was in fact staying in that room at the motel. Legg then confronted Simon in his room. While Legg was arresting Simon on the active warrant, which was from Asbury Park Municipal Court, cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia were observed in the room. Legg seized the cocaine along with a straw, commonly used for ingesting the cocaine, and several unknown type prescription pills. Simon was subsequently transported to OTPD for further processing.
     Simon was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of A prescription legend drug without a valid Prescription and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was later released on $7500.00 bail.
