DRUG ARRESTS

DATE/TIME: 11/12/2007
LOCATION: Jockey Lodge Motel 910 Hwy 35
OFFICERS INVOLVED: Michael Legg and Jeffrey Malone.
ACCUSED: John Jerome Johnson, Age 52 of Neptune
Charlotte L. Sanders, Age 36 of Ocean Twp.

NARRATIVE:
     On 11/12/2007 at approximately 3:11am, Officer Michael Legg was on patrol in the area of the Jockey Lodge Motel. While in the lot of the motel, Legg determined that an active warrant existed for the registered owner of a Lexus that was parked in the lot. Further investigation revealed that the owner of the Lexus, later identified as John Jerome Johnson, was in fact staying in a room at the motel. Officer Jeffrey Malone then arrived and both officers confronted Johnson in his room. While officers were arresting Johnson on the active warrant, which was from Asbury Park Municipal Court, cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia were observed in the room. Officers seized the cocaine along with glass pipes, commonly used for ingesting crack cocaine, and a spoon, commonly used heating and preparing drugs for ingesting. Also arrested in the room was Charlotte L. Sanders. Both Johnson and Sanders were arrested at the scene and transported to OTPD for further processing.
     Johnson was charged with Possession of Cocaine and was later released on $2620.00 bail. Sanders was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was later released on her own recognizance.
