BURGLARY ARREST

ACCUSED: Joseph Mazza III age 46 of Asbury Park

NARRATIVE:
     On 11/7/2007 at approximately 6:19 am, police were called to the rear of the Kinetron Inc. building in reference to a burglary in progress. Officer Leslie Laffan responded to the scene and upon arrival was met by an employee. The employee pointed Laffan to secured fenced in area behind the building. Laffan then confronted a subject, later identified as Joseph Mazza III, in this area. Further investigation determined that Mazza had cut the lock to the secured area with a bolt cutter and entered with his truck. Mazza then shoveled scrap metal into his truck in which he intended to cash in at a metal recycling center. Mazza was arrested at the scene and taken to OTPD for further processing. Mazza’s truck, a 2006 Honda pick up, was also seized under the state criminal forfeiture guidelines.
     Mazza was charged with Burglary, Theft, Possession of Burglar Tools and Criminal Mischief. He was later taken to the Monmouth County Jail on $25,000.00 bail
