DRUG ARRESTS

LOCATION: Tower Motel Parking Lot
OFFICERS INVOLVED: Michael Legg, Jeffery Malone, William Crosta and Dimitrios Kelesidis.
ACCUSED: Jalal Ali, Age 20 of Neptune, Phillip H. Meiklejohn Jr., Age 18 of Neptune and Diana D. Rivero, Age 19 of Ocean Twp.

NARRATIVE:
     On 10/6/07 at 9:50 PM, Officers Michael Legg and Jeffrey Malone were on patrol in the area of the Tower Motel located on Highway 35 south. Officers observed a parked 1998 Chevy Malibu in the parking lot of the motel. The Chevy was occupied by two individuals who were acting suspiciously. Officers approached the vehicle and determined that the two occupants identified as Jalal Ali, Age 20 of Neptune and Phillip H. Meiklejohn Jr., Age 18 also of Neptune were smoking marijuana inside the vehicle. It was also determined that Ali had an active warrant for his arrest from Neptune Township. They were both subsequently arrested and transported to OTPD for further processing. Officers then determined that the owner of the Chevy Malibu was inside one of the motel rooms. Officers then went to the room to turn over the keys of the Chevy to the owner. When the occupants of the room opened the door the officers observed two bottles of opened liquor, tequila and rum, in the room. Further investigation revealed that the occupants were under the legal age to possess/consume alcoholic beverages. One of the occupants, Diana D. Rivero, was arrested at the scene for providing the liquor to occupants under age. She was also issued a township ordinance violation for consuming alcoholic beverages under age while on private property. Police also took into custody two 16 yr old females from Long Branch along with a 16 yr old female from Levittown, PA. who had been reported as a missing person out of Little Falls PA. Additionally, officers also issued township ordinance violations for consuming alcoholic beverages under age while on private property to two other occupants, Brian Wallace, Age 20 of Neptune and Alexander Lizaire, Age 19 also of Neptune.
Ali was charged with Possessing less than fifty grams of Marijuana and later transported to Monmouth County Jail on $700.00 bail. Meiklejohn was also charged with Possessing less than fifty grams of Marijuana and released on a criminal summons. Rivero was charged with providing alcoholic beverages to persons under the legal age and released on a criminal summons. All of the 16 yr old were released to their parents.
