HEROIN ARRESTS

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Michael Legg and Mathew Jackiewicz
ACCUSED: William Francis O’Leary, Age 47 of Freehold
Kevin Joseph Motley, Age 55 of Neptune
NARRATIVE:
On 10/2/07 at approximately 10:05 am, Officers Michael
Legg and Mathew Jackiewicz were on two man mobile patrol in the area of the
Asbury Circle. The duo observed a 2000 Honda CRV enter the Asbury Circle
displaying an expired inspection sticker. The operator was also observed not
wearing his seatbelt. The officers stopped the Honda and identified the
driver as William O’Leary and his passenger as Kevin Motley. Officer Legg
then observed a plastic bag containing hypodermic syringes inside the
vehicle. Further investigation also revealed that the two were in possession
of heroin while in the vehicle. Officers also recovered a pipe commonly used
to smoke crack cocaine and several additional hypodermic syringes. Both
O’Leary and Motley were arrested and taken to OTPD for further processing.
It was also learned that Motley had several outstanding warrants for his
arrest after he attempted to provide Officer Jackiewicz with a false name.
O’Leary was charged with Possessing Heroin, Possessing
Hypodermic Syringes and Possessing Drug Paraphernalia. He was later released
on criminal summons. Motley was charged with Possessing Heroin, Possessing
Hypodermic Syringes, Possessing Drug Paraphernalia and Hindering his Own
Apprehension. He was later taken to Monmouth County Jail on $2000.00 bail.
