VIOLATION OF PRIVACY ARREST

DATE/TIME: 07-22-07 4:57 PM

LOCATION: Wegmans, Hwy 35

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Jeffrey Malone and Cory Cole

ACCUSED: Julius G. Reynolds, Age 48 of Neptune.

NARRATIVE:
On 7/22/07 at approximately 4:57 PM, Police were summoned to the Wegmans supermarket on Highway 35 south in reference to a male subject who was using a cell phone camera to secretly photograph female shoppers in the food isles. The subject fled on a bicycle just before Officer Jeffrey Malone arrived at the store. A description was obtained from the store manager and a short time later the subject identified as Julius G. Reynolds was located on Wickapecko Drive by Officer Cory Cole. Further investigation revealed that Reynolds was caught on a video security camera using his cell phone to take photos of intimate parts of at least two unsuspecting female shoppers. While being detained by Cole, Reynolds began to dismantle his cell phone in an attempt to destroy any pictures that might have been stored on it. Reynolds was subsequently arrested and taken to OTPD for processing. He was charged with Invasion of Privacy of Another and Tampering with Evidence. He was later released on a criminal summons pending court. Anyone who may have been photographed or witnessed Reynolds taking photos while in Wegmans is asked to contact Detective Patrick Martin at 732-531-1800.
