NARRATIVE
The Township of Ocean Police Department announces the
installation of LoJack Corporation’s Police Tracking Computers in it’s
patrol fleet. The units were donated and installed by LoJack, enhancing the
Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network in the area.
The LoJack Police Tracking Computer is installed in law
enforcement vehicles and is designed to receive silent signals emitted from
small radio transceivers hidden in LoJack equipped vehicles. Law enforcement
vehicles with the Police Tracking Computer follow these signals, which lead
police to the stolen vehicle.
Officers of the department received training in the use
of the units from LoJack, which included classroom and live tracking with
the units installed in the patrol vehicles.
The LoJack system is operated statewide in New Jersey,
and operates in 26 states throughout the United States, the District of
Columbia, and 28 countries throughout the world.
