LOCATION: Hollywood Golf Course
OFFICERS INVOLVED: Cory Cole and Detective Gregory Tongring
ACCUSED: Unknown
NARRATIVE
On 3/23/08 at approximately 8:19 am, police were called
to the Hollywood Golf Course in reference to a burglary of a warehouse
building and the theft of four golf carts. Officer Cory Cole and Detective
Gregory Tongring responded to the scene. Further investigation revealed that
during the overnight hours some unknown persons entered the warehouse
building where the golf carts are normally stored. No forced entry into the
building was found. Golf club employees found two of the golf carts off the
13th fare way. Both carts were driven down an embankment into a small water
hole just outside the fare way. The other two carts were later located off
the 12th green. It appeared that the both carts were intentionally crashed
into each other and left adjacent to a sand trap.
Anyone that may have seen or heard anything suspicious
at the time of the incident is asked to call the Ocean Township Police
Criminal Investigation Bureau at 732-531-1800.
