NARRATIVE
On 3/15/08 at approximately 10:15 pm, police responded
to a South Edgemere Drive residence in reference to a home invasion
involving a weapon. Officers arrived on scene and found the homeowner, a
70-year-old male, handcuffed in a bedroom. The homeowner was un-handcuffed
by responding officers and was not injured during the ordeal. Further
investigation revealed that at least three unknown males wearing black ski
masks entered the home via an unlocked door. Once inside the home, the
assailants approached the victim homeowner who was sitting in the living
room portion of the house watching television. One of the assailants
brandished a handgun and demanded the money from the victim. The victim was
then handcuffed by one of the assailants and led to a bedroom in the home.
The assailants ransacked the bedroom and took an undisclosed amount of cash
and two handguns that belonged to the victim. The assailants then fled from
the home leaving the victim handcuffed but unharmed in the bedroom. The
victim managed to get to a phone and call 911 for help.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything
suspicious in the neighborhood or may have information about the incident to
contact Detective Gregory Tongring at 732-531-1800.
