ROBBERY OF PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVER

DATE/TIME: 1/30/2008
LOCATION: Aldrin Road, Twinbrook Apartment Complex
OFFICERS INVOLVED: Brian Morgan, Detective Gregory Tongring and Sgt. Thomas Burke.

NARRATIVE
On 1/30/08 at approximately 10:56 pm, police received a call from a Pizzeria located on Wickapecko Drive in reference to their delivery man being robbed. Officer Bryan Morgan responded to the Pizzeria and met with the victim delivery man, a 33-year-old from Brick and the owner of the Pizzeria. Further investigation revealed that the delivery man victim went to the Twinbrook Apartment Complex to deliver food that was ordered for an apartment located on Aldrin Road. When he arrived he made contact with the occupant of the apartment who advised him that an order was never made. The victim then went back to his vehicle to confirm the order and returned to the court yard area of the apartment building where he was confronted by the assailant. The assailant displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The victim dropped the food order and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the assailant who then fled on foot. The victim attempted to call 911 but had trouble with his cell phone. He subsequently returned to the Pizzeria and notified the owner who in turn called police. Officers and detectives returned to the scene with the assistance of a K9 from Marlboro Police Department but were unsuccessful at locating the assailant.
The assailant is described as a Hispanic or black male with a thin build and thick eye brows. He was last seen dressed in all black clothing and wearing a bandana over his face. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have information about it is asked to call the Ocean Township Police Detective Bureau at 732-531-1800.
