INFRARED CAMERA

     The Patrol Division is equipped with a infrared camera.  Similar to the night vision goggles, the camera permits patrol officers to essentially see in the dark.  These goggles provide officers with a brighter picture in a a dark setting and can be instrumental in locating suspects and missing persons.  Unlike night vision which illuminates a setting, infrared depicts images that give off heat.  This is especially helpful when attempting to locate hiding suspects or missing persons who are injured and unable to move.
