Considerable flooding, tree damage and downed wires remain present throughout NJ as a result of Hurricane Irene.
Township of Ocean residents are among 431,000 JCP&L customers who remain without power. JCP&L has informed us that those Ocean Township residents without power can expect to remain without electricity for up to two more days as the electic company removes live wires, works with us to have trees removed, and then replaces wires to restore service. Their parent company, First Energy, has more than 1,200 employees from parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio dispatched to assist and to get everyone up and running as soon as practically possible.
In the interim, please stay indoors if possible and seek shelter if necessary.
