Internship Training Opportunities
The Department of Human Services has provided exceptional field placement experiences for interns and practicum students for over two decades. Our community based counseling program sees over one thousand clients each year in a variety of programs. We offer a full range of out patient counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. In addition, we provide drug and alcohol counseling, psycho-educational groups for youth and adults, Therapeutic Visitation services and a full range of school based counseling through our Student Assistance Programs. Interns are fully integrated into all programs and encouraged to take advantage of the diverse learning opportunities offered.
We invite graduate students in all mental health disciplines to apply for an opportunity for field placement. Our multidisciplinary staff includes a counseling psychologist, licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, licensed drug and alcohol counselors, and a licensed marriage and family therapist. All students receive weekly individual and group supervision by experienced and credentialed supervisors and in accord with the requirements of their academic institution. Interns are asked to make a commitment for a full academic year (two semesters). With a group of approximately six to eight new interns yearly, closed circuit video monitors and a full range of counseling programs, Ocean Township Human Services is truly an exciting place to begin ones professional career.
