Clean Communities Advisory Committee

Funded by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the Clean Communities Advisory Committee sponsors events throughout the year in order to promote the awareness of the problems that litter causes and the advantages of recycling whenever possible.

The Committee is comprised of volunteers Carole Allgor, Chairperson, Eileen Glynn, Evelyn Hampton, Rosemarie Napolitano and Laurie McGrath, Clean Communities Coordinator, as well as a liaison to Township Council, Councilwoman, Donna Schepiga.  High School students are also encouraged to join this Committee as they can earn community service credits. This year a member of the Ocean Township High School freshman class has joined our group.  The meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month from  at 7:00 p.m. in the Manager's Conference Room of Town Hall, 399 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst.

Some of the events that are sponsored by the Clean Communities Advisory Committee are as follows:

Clean Sweep
Adopt-a-Spot
Memorial Day Parade
Coloring and Poster Contest for  students in Pre-K through 8th Grades
Fall Fest

We are always looking for new members and new ideas. If  you would like join us, please contact Laurie McGrath at 732-531-5000, ext. 3364.
