General Overview of the Tax Assessor's Office
The Township of Ocean is currently conducting an in-house,
desk-top reassessment of all properties, effective for
the tax year 2019. The purpose of the reassessment is to have the total
assessment equal the current market value. This reassessment is required due to
Ocean Township’s participation in the Assessment Demonstration Program. The program
ensures a fair and equitable distribution of the tax burden among all the
property owners. Notices of new assessments for the 2019 Tax Year will be
mailed out by December 1st 2018. As part of the reassessment, Appraisal Systems, Inc. will be inspecting 25% of Township properties this year. The inspections have begun and will
continue until late summer. If you own a rental property, please advise
the occupants of the upcoming inspection. For additional information on the
revaluation, please click here.
