Hashish is a resinous material from the cannabis plant that is rich in THC. It is dried and compressed into balls, cakes, or cookie-like sheets. The color of hashish can range from a light golden brown to black. Generally, the darker the color, the higher the quality.

Slightly different is hash oil. Hash oil is the oily extract of the marijuana plant mixed with a solvent. Both hashish and hash oil have a high THC content, however hash oil has the highest content, generally ranging from 20-60%. Hash oil is light sensitive and needs to be kept in dark colored containers.
